Jul 7, 2023 · I trained them about cyber security tips and etc, but before I started working here, they had ransomeware attack. They were using free Avast antivirus which clearly didn't help and whole computers got infected and decrypted and they even paid some money to decrypt the encryption. I hated free Avast here. It more acts like a bloatware.

Linus actually said in a video that when he gets a computer he right away deletes whatever anti virus that came pre installed and sets up defender. So I would say defender does the job, and I have used it and it has done a great job. However many people love Norton so if you want a software that is something to look into.
